A French Theatre Company
visits Lockerbie Academy
The Onatti Theatre
Company, which specializes in performing plays in foreign languages,
is currently on tour in Scotland. On Wednesday 9 September S1/S2
pupils who are studying French had the opportunity to see a performance
of “La Chambre de Jean-Paul”. The play, which is about an adolescent
boy who finds it difficult to find a girlfriend, was a huge success.
Our pupils gave it a five-star rating, it deserved five-star rating!
Pupils found it very funny and quite easy to follow. The actors
put on a superb performance and the audience was treated to a
highly entertaining show. It is definitely an experience which
we would all like to repeat. Bravo!
Young Drivers’ Project
Last Wednesday 22
pupils and Mrs Bell and Mr Ferrie visited Chapelcross where the
Young Drivers’ Project was taking place. The pupils between the
ages of 16 and 17 had a fantastic time. Four driving instructors
gave them a beginner’s lesson, they went inside a Safety Camera
van, practiced on a driving simulator, and were given information
on legal matters, insurance and how to carry out basic checks
on the car including changing a tyre. Many thanks to the police,
driving instructors, Magnox North staff and everyone who helped.
On Wednesday 23 September
the pupils will go to Annan Academy for a presentation and theory
night.
