College Schools Competition
Congratulations to our S3 team who came third overall in the annual
schools/college competition at the Crichton Campus. The team was:

All games are now complete and Chris Gray is the winner for the
second time with 497 points. Mr Anderson is second with Mrs Anderson
in third place. Next week is the FA Cup Final.
Anybody who is interested in having a team in the World Cup League
should see Mr Dickson.
After Chelsea’s win over Portsmouth Mr Shearer is the FA Cup winner
with 105 points. Mr Herbert finished in second place.
Mr Shearer finished in a tremendous fourth place in the national
competition out of 90,000 entries.
Time Capsule is ready
for the New School
For the last 2 or 3 months
pupils have been putting together materials for a Time Capsule
to be placed inside the new cairn being built outside the new
school. The pupils involved were Ellen Boomer (S1), Luke Hammond
(S2), Chris Gray (S3), Ami Kirk (S4), Kate Jackson (S5) and Dawn
Anderson (S6). One group of pupils in S2 wrote a piece on life
in 2040.
The Time Capsule is scheduled
to be opened 28th May 2040!!
Ailsa Bartsch
– Champion Baton Twirler
Ailsa Bartsch age 12 who attends
Lockerbie Academy from Lochmaben has become National Champion
in the Fancy Strut baton twirling category after competing against
55 other hopefuls.
Ailsa has been twirling since
she was 5 years old and has won several medals. She is a member
of The Dumfries Baton Twirlers and will be competing in a team
for the European championships held in July this year in Sheffield.

Congratulations go to Ellen
Boomer, Zoe Forlow and Megan Finlay who are this year’s winners.
The competition was judged at the beginning of European Awareness
Week and throughout the week quizzes have been organized by the
Modern Languages department.
