Other charities also benefited during the year, in particular Children in Need. German students also took part in a sponsored German talk day which raised £138 for Chest, Heart and Stroke Foundation. Ingrid Mair accepted the cheque on behalf of the Foundation.

Europe Day Friday 9 May

Europe Day is being celebrated across Europe today. This day marks the anniversary of the creation of the European Union. The Union’s values include freedom and peace. The theme for this year’s Europe Day is “It’s not them and us, it’s you and me!” It is about accepting one another, being tolerant of each other and working together.

To mark this day pupils attending classes in the Modern Languages Faculty last Friday had the chance to take part in the Big Euro Quiz. This was a great way to learn about what life is like in Europe.
