Pentathlon Results
Seven boys
and seven girls participated gamely in varying weather conditions
– sleet, rain, hail and thunder – and on poor ground conditions
at King Eddy’s park and the primary school.
Despite this,
all of the girls and five of the boys competed keenly, making
both competitions interesting.
Final results:
Girls - Runner up – Hope Robertson
Winner (retaining the trophy) – Kirsty Liddon
Boys - Runner up – (last year’s
winner) Jack Copeland
Winner – Peter Drake
Well done to all competitors
and thanks to the Higher and Int 2 PE classes for assisting.

Maclean Concert – Lockerbie Academy 27 May 7.30pm - Tickets
£15 Dougie
Maclean, international singer/songwriter is appearing at
Lockerbie Academy on 27 May at 7.30pm.
Most famous
for the acclaimed ‘Caledonia’, Dougie will perform some
of the best known songs in his repertoire.
Dougie last
appeared in Lockerbie 20 years ago, so it seems apt that
he makes his return in the 20th anniversary year of PanAm
103. His last appearance in the area was at the Langholm
Arts Festival where he performed to a capacity audience.
Tickets are
selling fast, but are still available by contacting Kathleen
in the office.

| Rugby
– John Lewis Scottish Schools 7s
Lockerbie’s reward for their efforts in the early rounds
was to reach the quarter finals of the Salver ( fourth team
out of seven), where they met Forfar. Lockerbie won this
encounter 12 points to 7 to progress to the semis. In the
semis they met Stirling. Lockerbie dominated long spells
of this match but Stirling defended well and scored first
with a breakaway try under the posts. Lockerbie kept working
hard and scored a try of their own in the corner, conversion
missed. This is how the score remained. Lockerbie going
down 7 points to 5 points, a scoreline that did not reflect
Lockerbie’s overall domination of the match!
A good effort
by all the players. Well done.
