The Sandra Marshall Memorial Prize 2009
The Modern Languages
Faculty is pleased to announce that this year’s recipient of the
Sandra Marshall Memorial Trophy is …Sophie Humes 1F. Second prize
goes to Evelyn McLennan 1C and Third prize goes to Ellen Muir
1F. As a tribute to our former colleague, Sandra Marshall, who
loved to visit France and who appreciated the French way of life,
the language and culture, the Modern Languages Faculty runs a
competition for S1 pupils. The pupils are asked to prepare a personal
scrapbook throughout the session which includes creative artwork,
written French, new vocabulary, family photos and background information.
The end result is often outstanding and the effort which pupils
put in to this project is exceptional. This project remains a
firm favourite with our pupils. A huge thank you to our judges,
Mrs. Morton, Mrs.Dougan and Miss Strawhorn, who all commented
on the excellent standard of work produced by our pupils. Our
congratulations go not only to Sophie, Evelyn and Ellen, but also
to all of our S1 pupils who worked so hard on their dossiers.
