After an excellent powerpoint
and presentation on the USA trip 2008, Amy McPherson sang
“Wishing you were somehow here again”. Special Awards
were then presented to the Sports Personalities of the
Year – Andrew Williamson (fencing) and Hannah Fleming
(curling) followed by a celebration of our two National
winning teams – the Scottish School Curling champions
and the Under-13 Scottish National Shield Winners – an
amazing achievement for a “small rural school in South
West Scotland”. The Milk House Captains Nicola Shortreed
and Craig Prater also received the shield for the winning
House.
Finally the remaining
Special Awards were presented:

After the Special Awards
the Lockerbie Academy Fiddle Club provided a selection
of jigs and reels, and the evening was brought to a close
by a vote of thanks from Mairi Aitken and Taylor Edwards.
Parents, pupils, guests
and staff then joined together in an excellent buffet
and shared stories and the excitement of another outstanding
year for Lockerbie Academy.
We are very grateful
