Celebration of Achievement at Lockerbie Academy

Lockerbie Academy held its seventh “Celebration of Achievement” Ceremony on Wednesday 11 June 2008. Other guests included local councilors and members of the Education department. This year’s Master of Ceremony was Mr Brockett, Principal Teacher of Expressive Arts and he initially introduced a bagpipe selection from our two National piping champions and brothers – Chris and Steven Gray who accompanied a slide presentation of ‘A Year in the Life of Lockerbie Academy’. Finally after these awards Lauren Flynn and Graeme Tait, this year’s Head Girl and Head Boy respectively, gave the vote of thanks.

The audience then departed for photographs, drinks and a magnificent buffet to the sound of the Lockerbie Academy Fiddle Club, taking the opportunity to discuss the event with friends, family and staff.

Another memorable night for Lockerbie Academy and its pupils, parents, staff and supporters, with the advice of Fiona Armstrong to the fore – “prosecute each day with vigour” and “carpe diem” (sieze the day).
