The
Faculty offers French, German and Spanish.
French and German can be studied from first year through
to Standard Grade and on to Higher Still courses at
Intermediate/Higher/Advanced Higher level. Spanish
is offered as part of the Language Enhancement Programme
in S1 and in S5/6 as part of the Higher Still programme.
The Language Enhancement Programme is part of the
S1 curriculum. This programme offers pupils an additional
period of language study per week. In the course of
the session pupils are given a basic introduction
to German and Spanish as well as taster courses in
Russian, Italian, Portugese and Mandarin. It is hoped
that pupils will benefit greatly from this enriched
language learning experience.
The study of a second language...
Pupils can opt to study a second language, French/German,
in their third year and take it to Standard Grade
level and beyond. Pupils can also take a second language,
either French/German/Spanish, in S5/6. |
