Principal Teacher - Mr M Turner

From the Principal Teacher...

The faculty of Humanities covers a large number of differing but extremely exciting subject areas. Geography, History, Modern Studies, Philosophy, Psychology, Core RE and Religious Studies are all taught at Lockerbie Academy in the Humanities faculty area. We strive to provide safe and dynamic teaching environments where all students can reach their full potential. We develop in our students the skills and knowledge of local, national and international issues which are of relevance to them in their development as global citizens. Critical Thinking is an area where we see our young people being able to thrive in their time within the faculty. We aim to provide many opportunities for our students to become effective contributors, confident individuals, successful learners and responsible citizens. Pupils in return must give their best 100% of the time, we expect no less, and the high targets we set them can become achievable.
